Art Of...My Hero Academia

The Art Of Resistance Training alt art From My Hero Academia: Girl Power

The Resistance Training alt art is a part of the My Hero Academia Girl Power expansion pack.

The expansion was released amidst a sea of hype, and rightfully so. This is the first time we’ve gotten an entire set dedicated to the girls of the MHA universe, and fans are loving it!

The expansion also delivered on the hype by featuring a ton of great chase cards, one of which happens to be the Resistance Training alt art featuring the real steel hero, Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu.

The card is selling like hotcakes and is valued at a high price, so we decided to deconstruct various aspects of the card that make it so valuable and try predicting the future of the card. So if that interests you, stick around!

Origins

Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu is a student in Class 1-B at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro Hero. His Quirk, Steel, allows him to turn his entire body into steel, giving him enhanced strength and durability.

He’s known for his spirited rivalry with Eijiro Kirishima from Class 1-A, who has a similar hardening Quirk.

Trivia

Did you know that Tetsutetsu’s rivalry with Kirishima is so intense that they once competed in a steel-eating contest to see who was stronger?

The Resistance Training alt art shows off Tetsutetsu in his natural state, which is overly excited—so much so that his grin is borderline creepy.

Tetsutetsu can be seen getting ready for a fight in his hero costume. The background of the card adds a sense of motion, increasing the impact of Tetsutetsu’s scream on the card. It’s an energetic and dynamic illustration that perfectly captures his fiery personality.

Value

As of writing this blog post, the Resistance Training alt art is going for around $15, which is a lot considering how little screen time Tetsutetsu tends to get in the anime. As for the future of the card, based on past data, it seems like the card might falter in value a little as Tetsutetsu isn’t a very popular character.

Cards featuring characters like him tend to slide into irrelevancy as soon as people move onto new expansions. However, the unique art and the current popularity of the Girl Power expansion might help it maintain some of its value for a while.

So, are you excited for the “Girl Power” set? Why not order it now?
