The Recipro Turbo Alt Art is part of the My Hero Academia Girl Power expansion pack, which was released a few weeks ago.

Since hitting store shelves, this expansion has garnered considerable hype, and rightfully so. The expansion is packed with great chase cards featuring prominently female characters from the show, staying true to the theme. However, not all chase cards feature females.

One such card is the Recipro Turbo Alt Art, featuring class representative Tenya Iida, aka Turbo Hero Ingenium! The card is doing great numbers in the reseller markets, so we decided to shed some much-deserved light on it by delving into its origins, illustration, and predicting its future value. Origins

Tenya Iida comes from a prestigious family of heroes, with his older brother Tensei Iida being the previous Ingenium. Tenya inherited his brother’s hero name and strives to uphold the family legacy with his powerful Engine Quirk.

Trivia

A fun fact about Tenya Iida is that he drinks orange juice to fuel his Engine Quirk, which powers his super speed.

The Recipro Turbo Alt Art showcases Ingenium in his sleek hero costume. Personally, I think this is the best hero costume at UA High—it’s just so sleek and perfectly complements Tenya’s Quirk.

The card captures Ingenium in a rush, emphasizing the sense of speed that represents him. The background makes Tenya pop out of the card, giving it a well-put-together look.

Value

As of writing this blog post, the Recipro Turbo Alt Art is being sold for around $20 on reseller markets, which is notable considering how many Tenya Iida cards are already out there. While he’s not the most popular character, he certainly isn’t unpopular either, putting the future value of the card in a gray area.

Although the illustration is fantastic, the price is lower compared to some other cards featuring more popular heroes. However, the card has maintained a stable price since the set dropped, so who knows what the future holds.
