The Tsuyu Asui Chrome Rare is part of the My Hero Academia Girl Power expansion pack.

As the name suggests, the Girl Power expansion aims to empower and celebrate the female characters from the My Hero Academia universe, dedicating an entire expansion to just the girls and creating some great illustrations for them. The set features a lot of great chase cards, one of which is the Tsuyu Asui Chrome Rare.

The card has been causing quite a stir in the community as Tsuyu is a fan favorite and the card looks awesome.

Origins

Tsuyu Asui, also known as Froppy, is a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro Hero. Her quirk, “Frog,” gives her abilities similar to a frog, including incredible leaping, sticking to walls, and using her long tongue for various tasks.

Trivia

Did you know that Tsuyu Asui’s favorite food is anything with jelly? She loves it because it reminds her of insects, which she would eat if she were a real frog.

Illustration

The Tsuyu Asui Chrome Rare features the frog hero, Froppy, in action. Her special frog-like abilities make Tsuyu the perfect hero; she can jump over large piles of rubble and attack with her long tongue, and we can see her doing just that in this illustration.

Froppy is attacking someone with her tongue, and you definitely wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of that attack! The pose is dynamic and gives the card an action-packed vibe that not many cards have.

Plus, the green chrome foil only adds to the overall aesthetic of the card. Green is the color of Tsuyu, so it was the perfect choice to make the chrome foil green.
