GWAR Frontman Leaves The Stage

R.I.P. Dave Brockie, aka Oderus Urungus lead singer of GWAR who died on Sunday at age 50. #GWAR is probably one of the originators of Cosplay, or at least Cosplay Metal – transforming the art of the live concert beyond just playing instruments and singing to interactive stage craft.

People might point to KISS, but did KISS have giant dicks that spluged on the audience, and massive lactating breasts that shot milk like fire hoses? Did they chop each others body parts off with over sized axes, limbs and heads dropping with blood spurting comically onto the fans? Nope.

GWAR crossed the line of scatological onstage vulgarity decades before Lady Gaga was getting weakly barfed on.
