Cutie And The Boxer – Oscar-Nominated Artist Documentary

If you haven’t already seen the Oscar-Nominated art documentary  Cutie And The Boxer, this is a good film to add to your Netflix watch list.  It’s the classic story of the couple who are both artists, and one gets more famous than the other.  There is a great line Cutie has in the film about two artists living together in this situation.

“We are like two flowers in one pot. It’s difficult. Sometimes we don’t get enough nutrients for both of us. But when everything goes well we become two beautiful flowers. So it’s either heaven or hell.”

You can view this now on Netflix Streaming, or if you live in or around New York City, tonight (Tuesday, February 18th, 2014) there is a special free screening with a Q & A with Director Zachary Heinzerling, and Ushio & Noriko Shinohara (the full names of Cutie & The Boxer) at 7:00 PM at BRIC
