Robert Indiana BEYOND LOVE Closing Today @ The Whitney Museum

1-5-14New York – Sunday, January 5, 2014

The lights are going out on Robert Indiana’s Whitney Retrospective Beyond Love tonight, so if you have been procrastinating on making it over there, and you have a chance today, you best jump on it.

Everyone knows the classic stacked love statue, but you might not know his other large pieces of pop iconography: targets, circles, stars in circles, and numbers within the circles and stars.

Be ready for an eye candy exhibit of very large, very bold, very simple shapes, numbers and letters.

This is just another of the many premiere gala openings I attended in 2013 but never got  around to writing about.  Here are a few shots I took that night.
